Elementary and Intermediate Schools

Lighthouse Elementary School educates approximately 700 of Jupiter youngest students. A 14:1 student ratio ensures that attention and care is given to the 5-8 year olds that attend Pre-K through second grade here. This large elementary school is a 5-star school of excellence and a Green Award recipient! LHES is very proud of its incredibly capable faculty which includes several Nationally Board-Certified teachers and over 20 teachers with Masters degrees. This exceptional team orchestrates a wide array of programs throughout the school day including The Exceptional Student Education Program which serves students with disabilities and special needs.  At Lighthouse Elementary, learning doesn’t stop outside of the classroom.  Teachers at LHES encourage students to participate in countless extracurricular clubs; Fun and Fitness Club, Community Service Club, Drama Club, Chess, Tennis and the Pelican Planters Club are just a few.  There is an after-school (after care) program from 2:00 pm to 6:00pm which focuses on helping the children with academic, social, and physical development. Learners who are having a hard time at school can get extra help from the tutoring program, others elect to hone in on areas of interest ranging from science and mathematics, to fitness and the fine arts.

Jerry Thomas Elementary School is a Jupiter-based 5-Star designated school and a 'Green School of Excellence' awardee. Located at 800 Maplewood Drive it is home to nearly 900 students and offers grades kindergarten to 5.  The student progress in this school has been rated 9/10 which indicates their academic progress as compared to the previous year.
At Jerry Thomas Elementary the mission "…is to create an environment that guides, motivates and inspires our students to gain the knowledge, skills and ethics to become productive, educated and caring citizens."   The school is proud of the array of innovative ways of teaching, facilitated by the 59 teachers who are devoted to improve academic achievement. This is why you’ll find students literally jumping in class to understand scientific concepts!  Jerry Thomas students get bit by the technology bug through laptops, ipads, and desktop computers as they explore topics of interest in the virtual world.  Families in Jupiter choose Jerry Thomas for their special needs program.  The specialized curriculum for children who have autism, provides an environment that is comfortable and conducive to learning. 

Beacon Cove Intermediate School has proudly boasted an “A” rating since the time it was founded in 2001!  Educating nearly 900, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students, Beacon Cove is both a Five Star School of Excellence and a Golden School award winner.
There are 54 highly capable teachers at Beacon Cove Intermediate School equating to a 16:1 student to teacher ratio.  Most of the faculty here are Nationally Board Certified, with ESOL certification and a considerable percentage of them hold advanced degrees.  Classes for regular and gifted students are available to suit children at all levels. The importance of technology is recognized at Beacon Cove and easily witnessed in the computer lab. In here, students can explore many passions through the use of technology.  Students create music, explore through 3-D computer screens, and even code their own computer content.
Just like its sister school, Lighthouse Elementary, Beacon Cove also holds an after-school program which caters to 300 students. Take note that this is an award-winning aftercare program that has been measured by the Palm Beach County Program Quality Assessment (PBC-PQA) and has received the School District of Palm Beach County's Blue Ribbon Award of Excellence for five consecutive years!  This aftercare program has two certified teachers on board. They provide academic tutorials, a science club, drama club, cooking classes, physical activities (both indoor and out), access to the computer labs, arts and crafts and daily homework time.

 

Middle Schools

Jupiter Middle School, employs 75 outstanding teachers imparting knowledge in a 17:1 student ratio environment.  This large school serves grades 6, 7 and 8 to many of Jupiter’s pre and early teens.  The school is structured to offer focused tracts of learning through their Choice Program Academies.  Programs include Multimedia, Music and Communication, Pre-Engineering, Pre-Culinary Arts, and an In- House Medical Sciences Academy. This exciting structure has contributed to many accolades.  JMS received the overall grade of “A” according to floridastudentsachieve.org. Additionally, in 2017, Jupiter Middle School received the Five Star School recognition given to schools that are committed to incorporating family and community members into the school environment to enhance student learning.Principal Lisa Hastey describes Jupiter Middle School as ethnically diverse AND ability-level diverse. JMS is proud to provide a safe social space for the 20 plus students with autism orchestrated by an autism specialist on faculty. 

Independence Middle School is an A-rated school serving grades 6 – 8, in Jupiter, Florida.  It also boasts a Five-Star recognition as it has achieved all benchmarks in the five categories of Community/Business Partnerships, Family Involvement, Volunteerism, Student Community Service and School Advisory Council.  IMS offers their middle school students the opportunity to participate in exciting Choice Academies including SciQuest Academy, Teacher Academy, Pre-Law Academy and Pre-Business IT Academy.  Their Medical Sciences Honors Academy was recognized as a model program by the state during its first year of operation in 2010 and has since been an enriching many students wishing to explore this form of learning. Approximately 1500 students are enrolled at IMS and many enjoy an exciting after school program that aims to provide personal enrichment and academic improvement through recreational activities, homework assistance and tutoring, as well as social skills development. 

 

High Schools

A-Rated, Jupiter High School, located at 500 North Military Trail in Jupiter, Florida, boasts a graduation rate of 92.5%.  Part of this success can be attributed to its In-House Academies and Choice Academies programs through which students are able to pursue their passions.  In-House Academies include Army Junior ROTC, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Horticulture Science and Information Technology.  The Choice Academies include AICE Environmental Research and Field Studies, Engineering Technology and the Jupiter Medical Academy.  Aside from these incredible opportunities, students also have the option to participate in the Advanced International Certificate of Education program through a partnership with the University of Cambridge.  This program offers students the opportunity to participate in college preparatory classes as early as their freshman year.  Through this program they are afforded the chance to earn college credit while in high school!   The school teaches nearly 3000 students in 9th grade up to the 12th grade through the hard work of more than 200 teachers.  Staff members and administration at Jupiter High are focused on preparing students to adapt to and succeed in a multicultural society through a “Single School Culture” mindset.  This environment encourages an outlook that is aimed at challenging students to continuously improve and thus believe in their ability to perform at high levels.  he clubs that the students can participate in are as varied and broad in scope as the population of Jupiter High.  They include, but are not limited subjects such as rugby, softball, lacrosse, art, astronomy, debate and many, many more. Jupiter high is proud of their students devotion to these programs, many of which have gone on to compete and win at state and national levels.

Dwyer High School is located at 13601 North Military Trail in Palm Beach Gardens, serving grades 9-12 to students from Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens.  With a 17:1 student to teacher ratio, approximately 125 full time teachers strive to prepare children in this impressionable age for adulthood.  The school's mission:  "The staff of William T. Dwyer High School is committed to providing a world-class education with excellence and equity to empower each student to reach his or her highest potential with the most effective staff to foster the knowledge, skills, and ethics required for responsible citizenship and productive careers."  This Grade B school is well known for its Academy of Finance Program, which is part of the  National Academy Foundation. Dwyer also offers programs focused on Culinary Arts, Construction and Leadership. Additionally, students partake in elective courses connected to debate, theater and marine science to name a few.
