The 'Play' part of the 'Live, Work, Play' tag line centers around Downtown Abacoa and Roger Dean Stadium. Downtown offers a wonderful blend of restaurants, boutiques, art galleries, salons, bakeries and coffee shops! It is also home to many concerts, art festivals and events throughout the year. Abacoa Golf Club is one of the finest public golf clubs in South Florida and was the last course designed by Joe Lee, renowned course architect, before his death. The course surrounds The Island at Abacoa which offers beautiful golf and lake views to those who live there. This course is known to be challenging, but fair to golfers of all skill levels. The greens and putting surfaces are some of the highest quality in Florida. AND... you'll actually see some elevation changes and hills!
A favorite hang out for families is the Abacoa Community Park. Located in the heart of Abacoa, across the street from the Roger Dean baseball fields, is a facility built in 2003 which offers tennis courts, beautiful lit soccer, football and lacrosse fields, racquetball courts and baseball courts. The Abacoa Community Park spans 12 acres and also includes a skate park, a roller hockey rink, a playground, a snack shack and restrooms.
The 'Work' part of Abacoa includes amazing organizations and employment opportunities right here within Abacoa's beautiful community. Abacoa is home to the Corporate headquarters of G4S, a Security and Risk Management Company, The Max Planck Florida Institute, The FAU Honors College and The Scripps Research Institute.
