Jupiter residents enjoy ample opportunity to keep their bodies and minds healthy. Drive through any one of our amazing neighborhoods and you’ll find countless residents, walking, running, biking, golfing and playing. Many communities offer state-of the art fitness facilities for the convenience of their residents. Clubhouses often transform into the setting for organized group exercise sessions where neighbors gather to get their blood pumping. These amazing amenities keep our bodies fit and our property values favorable!
Thanks to Jupiter’s Open Space Program, over 1200 acres of land is preserved as natural habitat. Much of this land offers beautiful trails where one can get their steps in while experiencing South Florida’s wildlife up close and personal. Walking these trails in the winter is a bird watcher’s paradise – even our feathered friends from the north know that our town is the place to be for a healthy and happy life!
For those of us who like the clink of weights and the hum of treadmills, there are gyms around every corner – The Simmonds Team’s favorite, Planet Fitness just happens to be right across the street!
So, what if you’re not the Planet Fitness type? For those who prefer variety in their exercise routines, there are always exercise adventures from dusk to dawn. Do you enjoy Yoga? Local studio, Barefoot Yoga, hosts a session on Saturday mornings at Marcinski Beach. Attendees dig their toes into the warm sand and stretch toward the rays of a new day’s sun. They breathe in the salty air and get the day started with their best “barefoot” forward. On Monday nights at dusk, Kula Yoga offers a voluntary donation class beneath the expansive Banyon Tree that reaches toward the intercoastal from the base of the Jupiter Lighthouse. Jupiter residents gather on mats as the sun sets to tone and stretch while the treefrogs sing peace into their hearts and minds.
Gotta a little more pep in your step? You’ll love taking part in Jupiter’s 5ks. Our sense of community especially shines in the Pediatric Oncology Support Team’s (POST) annual Stronger Than Cancer Run/Walk. Participants wake early, sport superhero gear and enjoy the beauty of the heart of Abacoa while racing to honor and celebrate our community’s brave child cancer warriors.
